Playing tag with Jess, running through tunnels at agility, ‘because it’s there!’
and cuddles with Emma.
As soon as Welly was born from Jess's
first litter (Jess to Wally), we knew he was the one for us. He is a very special lad who is always very enthusiastic and
has a true zest for life. He has the most superb temperament and is so patient and kind natured. A true gentleman.
He passed his Kennel Club Good Citizen Scheme Bronze Test before turning 8 months and is currently competing
in agility very successfully at Grade 4. Welly loves his agility so much and likes to show the other dogs how much fun it
can be. But thankfully he does manage to stay focused often enough to show them that he is actually quite a clever boy as
well. He proved this by qualifying to compete in the KC Novice Cup at the KC International Festival 2010 ( for the 3rd year
in a row), after coming 2nd in a Jumping class at the RVA Show and 2nd in Grade 3 Agility at Wellingborough.
He also gained a great many other top ten places during last year's competitions. He is a very fast and powerful
dog, he is incredibly accurate and listens very closely to my every command. He is a real pleasure to handle, train
and compete with.
He
has a special bond with our youngest daughter Emma, as she did a lot of his initial training with him. This bond has continued to
grow into a very special friendship. They enjoy many hours of fun together and trust each other implicitally. She started
competing with him in June 2009, at junior level (she had just turned 12) and also at adult level, with a
great deal of success. On their first day out they came 2nd in Junior Jumping at the RVA show, they also came 11th in
Grade 3 Jumping at the JDA Show in August, in a stunning 19.89 seconds. They will continue to compete together next year.
