How many puppies can you fit in a basket? Answer below.

We occasionally breed from our dogs. Usually if we, or someone we know and trust, would like a puppy from our lines. We are very careful when choosing prospective homes for our puppies, as anyone who has one will tell you. This is to give the puppy and the new owner the best possible start in life.

We are also very careful when choosing the dogs that we breed from. All of our dogs are health screened and are DNA tested normal for CEA, TNS and hip scored before they are considered for breeding. We choose stud dogs that have a sound temperament, have been health tested and have characteristics that will complement our girls well.

Fenborders puppies are born and raised in our home. When they are about three weeks old we begin socialising them, they meet visitors to our home and are regularly handled. They also learn how to play with our children and our other dogs. They become familiar with the sounds that they will meet in their new homes such as: hoovers, washing machines, dishwashers etc. We also take them for short car journeys with their mum to help them feel relaxed on their journey home. This all helps the puppies to be confident around the everyday sounds, sights and smells that they will encounter when they leave us.

Our puppies are eye tested and vet checked at 6 weeks and are wormed up to date, before going to their new home at 8 weeks. They leave with a comprehensive puppy pack with full feeding/care guide, a life time of support and four weeks free insurance (which we highly recommend you continue).

We have forged some wonderful friendships over the years with Fenborders' owners. We do expect our puppy owners to keep in contact with us and send emails and photos of the dogs regularly. In return, we offer a lifetime of support and are always at the end of the phone to offer help and advice, even for the seemingly silly things that crop up. We try very hard to choose a forever home for our puppies. Unfortunately, there are times when, due to a change in circumstances the dog may need re-homing. Before our puppies go home we ask their new owners to sign an agreement to state that, if they are no longer able to look after their dog, the dog will be returned to us for re-homing.

We expect this mating to take place during the summer, with puppies due in the Autumn.

We do consider pet homes favourably but preference may be given to a home where the dog will be given the opportunity to work in Agility or Obedience.

If you think that you could offer one of our puppies a suitable home please contact us giving details of your household and routines, along with a contact telephone number.
